Mission Statement

Rio al Mar's mission is to share God's Love by offering humanitarian assistance and delivering God's message to the poor in Mexico and Latin America.

Mission Introduction

Rio al Mar means river to the sea. Rio al Mar is a small squatter’s village in the eastern area of Tijuana, Mexico that is so named by the inhabitants because it is located on the banks of the Tijuana River.

The average income is less than $2.00 per day and the live in huts built from pallets and cardboard with dirt floors. There is no running water and electricity is stolen at risk. The delivery of rice and beans is a key part of our ministry.

Currently we have helped establish a "Cocina Cristiano" Christian Kitchen serving 300-500 meals per month to children whose parents can't or won't care for them. This is the beginning.

Mission Outlines

Rio al Mar is a three part ministry including humanitarian aid, short term mission trips and church planting.

The humanitarian aid is physical assistance designed to improve health, community and develop trust in day to day areas of existence. God's Love is then shared through evangelistic outreach; with follow through in discipleship and church planting so new believers have a place to grow in faith.

Our Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.  2Timothy 3:15-17

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Matthew 28:19: Ephesians 4:4-6

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.  John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Philippians 2:5-11;

Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; 1Corinthinans 15:3-4

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment.  Revelation 20:11-15; 1Corinthians 15:51-57.

We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.  Titus 3:4-7; Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. Galatians 5:16-18; Romans 8:9

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. Ephesians 1:22-23; 1Corinthian 12:12, 27.

We believe that the ministry of evangelism is a responsibility of both the church and each Christian.  Romans 10:9-15;  Acts 1:8;  Matthew 28:18-20;  1Peter 3:15.

Mission Trip 2017 - Surf and Serve
Friday September 22 and Saturday September 23

Work(SERVE) from morning to afternoon Friday, hit the beach(SURF) until dinner then campfire fellowship. Saturday morning (SURF) then breakfast 7:30am and back to (SERVE). Guys being Guys.

Project:
Angeles en Libertad
This is a Boys Transition home. Established and run by local TJ, Mexican Christian families.Angeles en Libertad provides food, housing, clothing, tutors and tuition for boys in need. The gov’t home they are using has little space for 10-12 boys to lounge and do homework.

Surf and Serve
Build roof for an outdoor patio that can eventually be walled and completed as a homework room and admin. office for counseling. Additionally there is a need for fresh exterior painting and terraced gardening for fruit trees.

Depending on number of attendees and funding, we can add additional off site projects. My (non-contractor) estimate for this project will be $5-$6k. In Rio al Mar we have approx. $3k and VBS Mexico will usually drain a couple hundred. We are short on funding for materials, transportation and lodging. Help with sponsorship is a bonus!
